Its Da Lions of Hip-Hop Whhyyyooohhh

Every once in awhile a video like this surfaces and everyone gets nostalgic for the golden years of hip-hop. I'll not lie I'm a fan of the hip-pop coming out today (aka Kanye, Lil Wayne etc) but there is something about that old school 1990s steez that brings it all back. Early 90s hip hop was often defined by its minimal production, featuring just a snare or low fi piano loop, which really allowed for the MC's lyrics to shine. I think this minimal quality is whats lacking in hip-hop today..often rap is hyper produced, so the focal point becomes an arpeggiated synth line, or auto-tuned chorus...anywho enough preechin! This hot ass vid comes straight outta London where a veritable pantheon of hip-hop giants emerges. Kanye recently performed in L-town and I guess afterwards there was some insane party I surprisingly was not invited to. Here we see some A-list MCs grab the mic for a cypha, which brings me back to the good ol days of Da Mothst and Labia Fiends. Check it as De La, Mos Def, Nas and other heavy hitters completely kill it!:
