So its been a good/big week for me. Tuesday I was able to sneak on over to Oxford St. and catch Jessica Lea Mayfield playing this swanky little joint called The Fly. The place was tiny but the show was good and cheap. Anddd last night I headed Southeast to Wood Green and hit up Alexandra Palace for ..Dun Dun Dunnnn Sigur Ros! Yup thats right I saw em, and they lit crystal fireworks inside my skull which blossomed into some beautifully ecstatic sounds veins man. There were crazy visuals, streams of water, loads of confetti and best of all a rip roarin set of kick-ass iclanda-tunes. Anyway I will report more on that show later when I can post a proper vid. Buttt tonight I'm going to check Ladytron and Asobi Seksu live in Shepherd's Bush. Yeahhh, it should be a good show with the goth-psych-electro Brit-based rockers headlining and the ambient Brooklyn based shogazers openin it up. I'm pretty psyched and to get you psyched for me I've posted a couple vids! This first video is Ladytron's current single "Ghosts" The songs sick, with a tight bass line and blissy synths it sets the stage for this pretty good video of the band and a bunch of jackrabbits invading a desert:
This second video is a psychedelic stop-motion clip for Asobi Seksu's "Thursday" Thursday is off their first album Citrus which is pretty terrific and this song is probably their best, or least catchiest jam. Peep this steez and wish me good vibes at the show!:
