My fav Radio 1ers

Living in London for the past 89months has opened my mind to some really hip new tunes! BBC, the British media giant, happens to control all the good radio shows around these parts, so I listen to a lot uh Radio 1. But what songs are hip and neat over there in England, you ask??? Well I'll tell you! I've compiled a list of my top 5 fav songs most spun on radio 1! And yes, each of them has a ridic video to go along with it. So scroll down and hunker down, for some pretty terrific jam-footage!:

This first jam comes courtesy of Butch Cassidy..JK..its from Christian Falk, some no-name who happens to feature Robyn on this catchy pop anthem. The songs about having hope for criminals? Yeah, I don't get the lyrics myself, but Robyn hits a home-run as usual and the instrumental are sure to get stuck in your noggin:

The second song I'd like to recommend is from The Saturdays. Yes the name may seem like they are some throw-back C86 band, but no they are a 5 piece girl group. Yes, in Britain girl groups are still going strong and it kinda makes me nostalgic for acts like 3LW..remember them??? Anyway this songs pretty hot, but the video kinda sucks, as the girls dance jerkily on some pastel set.

Numero 3 is anotha banga! This tune has got some scorchin vocals and I'm sure its even getting some air time back in the Good ol U S of A! Yes, I'm talkin bout Duffy! Duffy has taken over Britain and this song proves why. The video is a little weak but has some cool silhouette dancing or whatever.

And now for the Rondo Mondos! You can't walk into a club without hearing this song from Guru Josh Project and in fact I saw him live at Ministry of Sound on their Birfday. Yeah it was pretty hot, but a little repetitive as most clubs are. The song is weird and I guess its about relaxing? The video is no less strange, as it features some lingerie model watching Josh on a TV and then stripping off her clothes...just watch:

Okay, this last video is a fan vid but I'd like to submit my vote for making it the official video for this song. Here, Wiley's infectious "Cash In My Pocket," is interpreted through the current financial crisis. The video features Gordon Brown and Alister Darling doing some sick lip syncing, but unfortunately it cuts off after a minute. Some one extend this thing, please!
