The Spirit of Apollo

The production duo N.A.S.A. (North America/South America) is set to release their highly-anticipated "The Spirit of Apollo" through Anti- Records on February 17th. They have shook the internet waves with several releases that so far have not disappointed Their debut is the result of a partnership between Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon or Sam Spiegel and Ze Gonzalez, who met in Sao Paulo and realized their mutual love for vintage Brazilian soul and funk records. Spiegel is a composer, producer, DJ, and remixer (and brother of Spike Jonze) who has honed his chops spinning for parties across the globe and producing/remixing tracks for Iggy Pop, Kiley Minogue, and the Cardigans. He also produced the well-received Yeah Yeah Yeahs album "Show Your Bones" and scored and compiled the soundtrack for Girl Skateboards video "Yeah Right!". Gonzales is a professional skateboarder and highly sought-after DJ who blends Brazilian beats and underground hip hop to create a signature sound and style. Their creative partnership has resulted in an awe-inspiring intermixing of turntable skills that has produced some of the finest, bangin' tunes that will certainly make your heads bob and bodies move. Their collaboration-infused debut features the incredible mixing and matching of a myriad of guest artists that includes the likes of: Tom Waits, Kool Keith, David Byrne, Karen O, Method Man, RZA, Spank Rock, Ghostface, and M.I.A. among others. If you need any more reason to check them out, even Ol' Dirty Bastard makes an appearance from the grave. Peep it.
