Black Lips - Boys In The Woods

Black Lips first single in 3 years is a dirty backwoods, blues romp. Boys In The Woods is a sort of building sludge fest. It opens with a Stones riff (circa 64) and ends with a strained choir of Southern-fried ghosts, not unlike early TV On The Radio. Its a hemi of uh a jam and one that keeps us hopeful their upcoming LP will be a serious bullet to the skull. Check it:

Black Lips "I'll Be With You"

Get ready for some sappy 1960s nostalgia with this one. Black Lips, a group that already has mock/tribute to the 60s sound, bust out a silly home-video style video for their Phil Spector-esque single "I'll Be With You." The Hotlanta based lads jump around the fire with a clown for a good ol' christmas birthday...or something. Enjoy:

Don't Light Me Up

Yeahhhh Black Lips are back with their new album 200 Million Thousand. Is it good? MMMMMMmmmmmyes. BLs return with more lofi punk tunes, but this time more in the vein of a 60s psyched out party band. Their new single "Short Fuse," is about beating the shit out of Humpty Dumpty or something and the video is aight. There's some nifty animation here that looks like a cross between The Ambiguously Gay Duo and Yellow Submarine. Check this piece:
