Symmetry - Streets of Fire

Ever wonder how creepy and depressing New York City looks when you film it on a cloudy day with an actual camera that shoots film? Well look no further than Johnny Jewel's latest music video for his ambient, John Carpenter-esque project Symmetry. Really this is just a lot of shots of Manhattan, with Ruth Radelet's haunting vocals trickling over everything. It makes you feel like you've watched something very sad and profound, but I guess that's JJ for ya! :)

Chromatics - Lady

It seems like every week now, we hear something more about Johnny Jewel and Co. aka Italians Do It Better. The icy disco-ites are planning for an epic 2012 with new records dropping from Chromatics, Glass Candy, Desire as well as a new After Dark compilation (:D). Rumor has it The Chromatics' new album Kill For Love will secretly enter the Earth's atmosphere sometime in the next few weeks... As our skin begins to itch for arpeggiators and Carpenter-esque beats, we can sit tight and listen to the Chromatics new single, "Lady." Yes its nice. Yes its got lines like, "I was always looking for lady. Baby, you're so far away." Yes it has a video shot on 8mm. Yes theres like an glittery gold curtain in it. ;);););););););););););););););););)

Running Up That Hill

I guess Italians do Do It better! At least that's what I'm lead to believe from the amazing label Chromatics and Glass Candy belong to. Chromatics just released a new promo video for their old, but still stunningly bangin (and better than Placebo's) cover of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill." The cover is similar to the original, cept its got a little more creepy-disconess to it. The video is kinda borring and weird but still captivating. Check it:

and the orig(uhmazing video, Kate's a babe):

Desire

This is just a follow up post to Tadd's last one. Johnny Jewel, mastermind behind Glass Candy and also The Chromatics is currently working on a brand new proj that has less of that Euro-feel, but still maintains an electro hotness. Check out this song
