The Jesus & Mary Chain - April Skies (video)

Look Back In Anger: We're almost done with these April Skies, so why not revel in their grandeur just a little bit longer. I've been spinning a lot of 21 singles recently, but if you want to get a little more in-depth with this section of Chain history, I'd love to point you towards Darklands. This is one of, if not the best records of JAMC. April Skies is the perfect combo of familiar Mary Chain fuzzpop, with nods to traditional Rock-N-Roll, and Rockabilly. Hardbody, Guitarville, UK. Population: These Scottish dudes...makin love on the edge of a knife, forever and ever:

Badlands - Sleeping Beauty

If you had to predict a song that could wind up on the soundtrack of a future Sofia Coppola film, this would at least be on a top 10 list. Badlands seem to blur the lines between dreamy, wall of sound type ballads, Jesus and Mary Chain ambiance and slowcore indie-pop, popularized by bands like Beach House. Washed with a romantic sheen, this track is packed with perfect mood-setting melodies. Light a couple candles, uncork that bottle of Chianti, and let Badlands unwind in your ear.

The Big Pink

Brit-Pop-Electro-Shoegazers, The Big Pink are set to release their debut album this April on 4AD. The band is bound to make a big splash, judging by the praise they're already receiving from uh buncha critics. The lads sounds a bit like Jesus & Mary Chain meets early Verve, but in a totally good way. Their first single, unoriginally titled "Velvet" already has a sweet video that features lots of black and white, bare skin, and serious faces with some psyched-out mirror visuals thrown in. Its a cool clip and compliments the music pretty well(which is well worth a listen!) So check these dudes:

and for those of you who don't believe The Verve did anything worth while besides that played out "Bittersweet Symphony," than check out this jam off of their first album (which is uhhh-mazinggg) A Storm In Heaven:

Me And Mary

New Asobi Seksu video first reminded me of the new Morrissey video, but then I realized it's more like The Jesus & Mary Chain video for "Just Like Honey." This new clip features the band up close and personal, rockin out in some white and black abyss where shoegaze videos live. "Me And Mary," is the first single off their new forthcoming album Hush and its dang good! Plus I saw these cats open for Ladytron in London!!! Booyah bitches, peep this shiz:

..plus here's JAMC's vid for "Just Like Honey" justtt encase you can't get enough blissy distortion:
