Brainfeeder Free Compilation

After winning "Label of the Year" at the 2012 Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards (see Brownswood Recordings for reference), Flying Lotus and his Brainfeeder imprint have released a free 12-song sampler of tunes from their roster of artists. Sampler features tunes by: Thundercat, Martyn, Samiyam, Tokimonsta, The Gaslamp Killer, Jeremiah Jae, Taylor McFerrin, Teebs, Austin Peralta, Matthewdavid, Mono/Poly, and an exclusive download from Lapalux (side note: I'm way too lazy to link to all these artists' respective sites, but more info and links to their releases can be found on the Brainfeeder site).  It is available for download here.

Parisian Goldfish

I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with Mikey on this one..new Kanye is maybe his best material to date, with innovative production and interesting pop songs that i feel are taking a lot of heat for not being typical dance songs, or hip hop anthems. Anywho with that self righteous garbage out of the way, I'm going to have to go ahead and uh-gree with Mike on a previous song he turned me onto. This video has made pitchfork's top 40 vids of 08 and to be honest I'd put it at number one. Hynotic dance floors and sum bodacious dancin make this joint a top notch burnah. Not to mention the 2 superstar dancers(surprisingly unknowns) bust some moves that I don't think even Beyonce could top in her new vid (scroll down if you have yet to see this cinematic gem as well). Yup, this video did come out earlier in the year but its the time for recappin and I hope my colleagues will join in the festivities over the next few weeks of bringin back some oldies but goodies of the past year.
