I mean how much more can we blog about Grizzly Bear this year? I guess we missed out on the whole Jay-Z goin to see them play in Brooklyn thing, but whatevs. This band has dominated 09, with big releases, performances, TV sets and sweeeeeet videos! Well they're back again (of course) with another bangin clip, directed by the dude who did all the Fleet Foxes stop animation videos( Sean Pecknold) and this one's animated too. I needn't say more, just watch:

Ready, Able
Seems like Grizzly Bear has done like every late night talk show spot available for bands. They've just be promoting Veckatimest like crazzzzy and I keep thinking I've seen enough of them, but I guess I haven't. They've played "Two Weeks" enough times and I think "Fine For Now" as well, but the latest performance of "Ready, Able" on Dave is amazing. GB holds it down with a sweet ass string section that almost gave me chills. A must peep:

Two Weeks
Everyone seems to be in Grizzly Bear mode these days, as the release date of their much anticipated and heavily downloaded new album Veckatimest, approaches. Well we here at LBG are no different! If you haven't already pawned this LP from a friend who swiped it from Piratebay, well then you're sure in for a treat! Andddd they just released this hot new vid to compliment this already blazing new single, "Two Weeks." Here, the boys sit, with shining baby doll faces and if I'm not mistaken their eyes look kinda bigger too. Everything is super slowwwed down, but we soon discover that the Grizzly gang's vocals are as explosive as they sound!

GRIZZLY BEAR FEVER!
While searching for news concerning the latest Grizzly Bear release (Friend EP came out November 5th of 2008; Veckatimest scheduled for a May 29th release), I came across this vid of the "Grizzly Bear" dance that was kind-of popularized during the early 1900s having been performed on a few ferry boats and one broadway show (thanks Wikipedia). During the performance of this rough and clumsy dance, the dancers are said to shout out "WOOGA CHOOGA!" mid dancing bear imitation. We here at LBS are bringin' it back without apologies. I only wish this video was 10x longer and had sound to go with it.

Grizzly Bear song: "Two Weeks"
I heard this song with Endless Kevin Bendis at All Points West Festival this summer and its been in my head, on and off, ever since. This song is great, Grizzly Bear's harmonies and detached dark mood with a sorta elton john keyboard thing going. Can't wait for their upcoming album, which this new jam will no doubt be on.
At All Points West:
Here's them performing it on Letterman:
They're one of these prolific bands today creating, in my mind, the best music of the day, along with Beach House, Deerhunter....
