Grimes - REALiTi (video)

This is a new Grimes song. Apparently its not on her new album. Poss because its too poppy? Its hard to say why she would leave this tune off a new LP, unless all her other tracks are way doper, but this is a serious club banger. Jittery stabs and the unmistakable wisp of Grimes's voice are present, as is the grimey synth used for Better Off Alone. This is a throbbing, club-next-door sort of track, where you feel like you're just missing the melody or something, but then you listen and you're like oh yeah there it is, right under my nose! Also this is fantastic vid, which we should all expect from Grimes these days. Dancing in weird, hidef environments its totally her jam. And it totally werks. Get it done:

Morrissey - World Peace Is None of Your Business

Here it is finally, finally, finally, the world WILL listen! The title track from Morrissey's upcoming LP, is a soaring ode to the world's disenfranchised. In typical Moz fashion there's a litany of ostentatious culprits, run through the ringer of culpability. Sonically, it seems World Peace Is None of Your Business is shaping up to be Morrissey's most interesting record since Your Are The Quarry. I'm expecting nothing less than the best and neither should you!

Morrissey - We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful

Look Back In Anger: Ah Moz, always returning to our hearts with a look of disgust and wave of of his hand. This year Morrissey has scheduled a plethora of new dates across the the US, all before he plans to release not one but two new albums. It should be an exciting time for the Pope of Mope, as long as his health maintains (god willing). Last week Your Arsenal was reissued and remastered for the world and so it seems only fitting that we take a look back upon it for our weekly installment of Look Back In Anger. WHIWOFBS is my favorite track off the album with a wonderfully jangley Boz Boorer guitar riff, and the usual trip from Morrissey in the lyric department. We all it hate it when our friends become successful, at least deep down, its more than true. So let's travel back to 1992. It's Late Night with Morrissey and the boys in the band, live and televised. Check it:

The Stone Roses - I Want To Be Adorded

It's Monday so its time for another instalment of Looking Back In Anger. For this week's chapter we focus our gaze on the Madchester golden boys, The Stone Roses. Roses are one of those bands you can continually come back to and recently I've come back around. 2014 feels like a year of the Roses. Last year they had their epic reunion tours and rumours were floated that a new album was in the works, one can only hope it will arrive this year. Stone Roses were and are one of the only bands to successfully blend the psychedelic ambience of late 80s dream-pop with stadium ready hooks of 90s Brit Pop. If Second Coming hadn't been so panned they could have gone one to be much larger than Oasis or even The Smiths. Check out their clip for the spine tingling, I Want To Be Adored, right here:
