Midnight to Monaco - One In A Million (Com Truise Remix)

Com Truise transforms the throbbing blue eyed soul of Midnight to Monaco into an anxious, 3AM club banger. In typical Truise fashion the song opens with interwoven drum samples fracturing beneath spaced out arpeggiators. What holds the track together is the pop style, nightclub vocals, from Midnight to Monaco, recalling 90s acts like Soul Decision. Cruise is a master of refashioning old sounds and bringing a new perspective to 80's synths. Not unlike a glitchier, Jan Hammer tune, this is a real nighttime song for the summer. Check it:

TOPS - Outside

Picture yourself on a sunfish, sailing out past the breakers. You head West in-front of the old lighthouse and it's decrepit, rotting wharf. It's a balmy afternoon and the sun beats hard against the boat's deck. In the distance the ferry makes its lazy way across the bay. A gull follows from up above. You can feel the breeze beneath your arms. The shore is dotted with Victorian bungalows, tucked smartly behind trimmed hedges and a row of Oak trees. It's nice to be outside. Here's a new song from TOPS:

Mt Si - Oh

Sexually haunted sunbeams glaze this undeniable track from Mt Si. There's a romantic mystery about this (group?) and its music that seems overly fitting for soundtracking the closing of summer. The night is growing longer and soon we'll all be wrapped up in our favorite Fall costumes. Enjoy the sunny sun while it lasts! Here's Oh:

Todd Terje - Inspector Norse (video)

Time to check out Todd Terje's magnificent new clip for Inspector Norse, the latest single off his new It's Album Time. Terje constructs effortlessly pulsing, Disco Nouveau-House music. Inspector Norse is something that sounds equal parts DFA and Binary, like the glorious love child of Juan Maclean and Fabian. Snappy dance numbers deserve snappy videos and this one does not disappoint. On display are the chronicles of the affable Inspector Norse himself, a true connoisseur modern dance, modern drugs, and modern living in the Suburban Norway. Its time to start selecting tunes for your summertime beach ready cassette and this will have to be track numero Uno.
