Electric Youth - Innocence (video)

Here's the epic scifi-romantic clip for Electric Youth's new single, Innocence. Continually, the 80s pop aficionados prove they are ahead of the ahead of pack. When it comes to writing the best tension building, arpegiator filled, tributes to the night and the past, no one else comes close! Innocence is a typical EY affair, with its expansive soundtrack ready synths, whispered vocals, and interwoven melodies basked in nostalgia. Brings to mind Sally Shapiro and The Voyagers.

Glass Candy - Beautiful Object

Dude, this video is sick. Glass Candy really make rockin' in the lab look like the coolest/funnest/sweetest thing you could ever do. Most of us are well aware that in the real world studio time can be an arduous, painstaking process of grooming through finite details and stressing about money, and time, and vocal effects processors, and how to get those drums to sound like Steely Dan. WTF, ITS IMPOSSIBLE. But here we find a bubbly Ida No, dancin' and chirpin' on the mic like a little discafied bird, enjoying the pleasures of a backyard birdbath. Johnny Jewel is here too, smashing keys and taking that pad to Drum Town. Its good times all around, and the camera light flares just add to the glitz and timeless feel of the entire clip. BTW After Dark 2 just dropped and if you're not a complete idiot you'll go get it right now. Idano if Italians actually do do it better, but they sure know how to make some juicy, pineapple sized, boogie-woogie, get-downs.

College - Révélation

Some people have more vivid dreams than others. College is one of those dudes, delving deeper into Dream-wave than other nostalgia-aficionado. If you missed the Drive tour last summer than you truly missed several time warping hours that transported an entire audience back to a better time. A time when phones belonged in cars and computers really only worked when you wore a bra on your head. Révélation fits comfortably among the College discography, with its familiar synth throbs and slow building machine drums and bass. Its got that optimistic je ne sais quoi sound, where it could very easily work as the soundtrack to some pre-prom ritual, or a top-down drive along a moonlit beach boulevard. So tune in, and for a few minutes.. travel back.. College - Révélation
